Gerard has been an Associate Dean, Head of Department and Director of Quality responsible for 5500 students world-wide.  He is now Senior Academic in the Lincoln Business School, University of Lincoln, UK where he teaches, Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management and Research Methods.  He is currently supervising 3 doctoral students.  

 

Gerard has taught extensively in Zambia, UAE, Oman, India and in Europe. 

 

 

Gerard is the Editor of The International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation which he launched in 2000.  In 1994, he launched the International Journal of Quality Assurance in Education.  He sits on numerous Editorial Boards in the area of Entrepreneurship and has been key note speaker at a number of conferences. 

 

Gerard started life working in the Shipbuilding Industry in the North East of England, working on Oil Tankers.  He developed an interest in rural issues after carrying out some consultancy work with small businesses. 

 

His research interests are in Rural Entrepreneurship and Farmers Entrepreneurial Skills.  He is currently working on an EU funded project ‘EU-ESoF Framework 6 Developing the entrepreneurial skills of farmers http://www.esofarmers.org/index.html

His Doctoral thesis is on Farmer Entrepreneurship.

He has published extensively in the area of Entrepreneurship.  Gerard is an external examiner at two universities. 

 

Gerard is also a Subject Specialist Reviewer for the Quality Assurance Agency of the Higher Education Funding Council for England

Dr. Alok K. Verma is Ray Ferrari Professor and, Director of the Automated Manufacturing Laboratory at Old Dominion University. He also serves as the Chief Technologist of the Lean Institute and MET Program Director at ODU. Alok received his B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering, MS in Engineering Mechanics and PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Prof. Verma is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Virginia, a certified manufacturing engineer and has certifications in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. He has organized several international conferences and is currently general chair for ICAM-2006. Dr. Verma serves as the associate editors for three International Journals. Dr. Verma has developed and delivered training program in Lean Enterprise & Design for Manufacturing for Northrop Grumman Newport News, STIHL and several other companies in U.S. He has developed simulation based training programs for shipbuilding and repair industry under a grant from the National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP). He is well known internationally and has been invited to deliver keynote addresses at several national and international conferences on Lean/Agile manufacturing. Dr. Verma has received the Regional Alumni Award for Excellence for contribution to Lean Manufacturing research, the International Education Award at ODU and Ben Sparks Medal by ASME. He is active in ASME, ASEE and SME. Dr. Verma continues to serve the Hampton Roads community in various leadership positions.

Ahmed Naumaan is Faculty Chair for Electrical Engineering at the NTU College of Engineering and Applied Science at Walden University. He is responsible for directing graduate programs in Electrical Engineering and also supports programs in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, and Computer Science.

 

Naumaan received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. His research has been on the development of phosphosilicate glass waveguides and the design of both passive and active devices for integrated optics including ring resonators and very high-speed electro-optical modulators in the AlGaAs system.

 

Dr. Naumaan worked in industry for more than a decade with a variety of companies on projects involving solid-state sensors, integrated optical devices, automated meter reading systems, and information technology. He spent five years with the University of MinnesotaTwin Cities, Computer Science & Engineering Department before joining Walden University.

 

Dr. Naumaan has many publications and conference presentations and two patents. He organized and chaired a technical committee on Semiconductor Processing Technology for the IEEE CHMT Society and served on the organization committees for several conferences and workshops including the Electronic Components Conference and Workshops on Integrated Optical Technologies. He is also active in community volunteer activities such as speaking to community organizations and participating in community-driven radio and television programs.
